Woodlands – New Year , New Challenge ?
Woodlands – New Year , New Challenge ?
Are you looking for a new challenge in the new year? Why not consider becoming a valued
volunteer at Woodlands?
We are holding our annual Volunteer Open Day on Sunday 14 January from 11am until 2.30pm and if you think that you might like to get involved we would love to see you.
At the Open Day you will have the opportunity to have a look around the Sanctuary and
meet some of our animals. Some of our existing volunteers will be on hand to chat to you
about what volunteering for Woodlands means to them and you can meet our staff team.
Liz Gould , a Trustee of the Charity said “ Our volunteers are one of our most valuable
resources and we couldn’t care for our animals to the standard we demand or raise the
money to keep the Sanctuary going without their help. Why not drop in for a look around, a cup of tea and a chat and see if volunteering for Woodlands is for you “
Volunteers’ hours can be flexible and work around people’s other commitments. On site
animal care volunteers usually work a half or full day depending on their availability while
fundraising volunteers tend to do shorter shifts on an ad hoc basis at off site collections, bag packs and other fundraising events mainly in the Sefton and West Lancashire areas.
Last year’s Volunteer Open Day brought us some amazing volunteers and we are hoping
that this year will be the same.
