If you are looking for a Christmas Panto to take the kids, look no further than Beauty & the Beast at the Black-E Theatre in Liverpool this Christmas, it is absolutely brilliant! The lead role of Beauty is played by Formby born actor Tori Hargreaves.

The Black-E Theatre is one of Liverpool's most iconic arts buildings and seats 350 people. The great part of this panto is that the stage is in the middle with seating around all four sides which meant that you were more involved in the whole performance.

A re-imagining of the classic fairytale romance brought to life by Drops of Light. This Christmas the Black-E Liverpool transforms in to an enchanted castle. Home to a ferocious Beast who is trapped by a spell that can only be broken by true love. Who can break the spell? Will the Beast ever be released from his curse? Is our Liverpool heroine the answer?

The setting of an enchanted castle was magical for children big and small and the characters were both charming and funny from the very first line with real scouse wit. There were no parts that you were sat bored, it was great entertainment which kept the audience captivated throughout the entire performance.

This is a truly heartwarming and hilarious family show that is not over-priced and suits all ages from very small to very old.

Tori Hargreaves played the part of Beauty. Tori was born and raised in Formby trained in acting at Arts Education School London where she currently resides. She has previously enjoyed success in a number of roles most notably appearing in Bill Kenwright’s Blood Brothers. Tori is delighted to be returning to her native Formby for the festive season.

Beauty & the Beast is a feel good family show that tells the story of a young woman named Beauty (Tori Hargreaves). Beauty lives in a quiet village with her father Egbert the Inventor (Alan Stocks). Beauty feels like she doesn’t belong, her family and friends, including Gorgeous Gaz (Ciaran Kellgren) poke fun at her love of books and she longs for an adventure to take her away. The adventure Beauty longs for comes in the form of an enchanted castle, home to The Beast (Nick Langmead), Basic Bertie (Adam McCoy) and Dame Dolly (Jamie Greer) who are trapped by a spell, cast to teach The Beast a lesson in judging others. Fairy Rose (Helen Carter) adds a touch of magic to the production as she haplessly tries to reverse the spell and save the castles inhabitants from a life trapped inside its walls. Beauty & the Beast will run from 6th – 31st December in one of Liverpool’s most iconic arts buildings The Black-E, which stands majestically next to the famous Chinese Arch, offering a magical setting for families to enjoy a unique Christmas treat. Not to be missed, Beauty and the Beast promises all out magic and sparkle in a show that will appeal to families of all ages.
