Police Incident at Lifeboat Road car park

Merseyside Police were called to an incident at Lifeboat Road car park yesterday evening 24th October at approximately 6:15pm.
A spokeswoman from Merseyside Police said: "We had a report of a very 'Loud bang' in the vicinity of Lifeboat Road and surrounding areas. The report was a great cause for concern because we did not know what it was and had to act on it. We had to evacuate the car park and make sure everyone was safe whilst we searched the area and investigated the incident thoroughly. Nothing was found, we do not know what it was and the area was re-opened shortly after 7:30pm."

Over a dozen Police vehicles raced into Formby down Lifeboat Road this evening at approximately 6:15pm.
Lifeboat Road and car park are currently closed in Formby due to the ongoing Police incident.
Ten Police cars and a few Police vans including gun ships (Police armed response vehicles) and the Police helicopter are currently searching the area.
An eyewitness at the scene said: "It was crazy, there were about 15 Police vehicles came down. They asked everyone to leave immediately as they were dealing with a dangerous situation."

UPDATE at 7:50pm:
We have been informed that it is now all clear and the Police have left the area.
