St Jerome's Sewing Angels are holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning at St Jerome's Parish Hall on Friday September 29th from 10:30 - 12:30 - also on sale are delicious homemade cakes. There will be hand crafted articles, great for Christmas presents, for sale. A beautiful original patchwork quilt and other items will be raffled. All proceeds go to World's Biggest Coffee Morning fund.

Formby Models and Hobbies are holding a coffee morning for Macmillan on Saturday 30th September from 11am.

It is open to everyone and they will have tea, coffee and some cold drinks available, as well as cakes!! Formby Models and Hobbies are inviting people to bring more cakes/biscuits etc with them and there will also be a 'cake off' if anyone fancies their chances. they will also have the facilities available for anyone who wants to 'brave the shave!

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. They ask people all over the UK to host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. Last year alone they raised £25 million and this year they are aiming to raise even more. The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, they did it again the next year – only this time, nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £138 million for Macmillan.
