Triumph in Joseph Lord Cup for Formby Holy Trinity’s 3rd Team!

Formby Holy Trinity Third Team finished their season with a nail-biting finish to win the Joseph Lord Cup Final. With the score standing at 2 all, Luke and Andrew came from a set down to win! A brilliant display of hard hitting from Luke with his new racquet, and experienced Andrew displaying finesse against a much younger opposition.

Jan, Mrs Singles, continued her unbeaten run; Chantal and Jeanette proved too strong in the Ladies Doubles but Andrew; Ryan and Gill found their opponents were the heavy guns. Thanks also to Christine who stepped in to play in the semi-final and Matt who supported Gill in an earlier mixed.

Lastly a big thank you to Dave Clifford, in his role as League Representative and host from Sphynx who provided a delicious cream tea. The victorious team then retired to the Richmond Pub to celebrate until they were told to quieten down as the participants in a music quiz could not hear the questions!
