Friends of Formby Pool Meet-Up

As FRIENDS OF FORMBY POOL is becoming part of the fabric of our excellent facility, I thought it time to invite all the FRIENDS to an informal social meet-up on Saturday 8th July 2017. Offering an opportunity to meet-up, and have a chat over a cuppa.

Would it work without an incentive or reason - I wondered? On the Saturday, I set up tables and chairs - and waited. Gradually my patience was rewarded and the FRIENDS began to arrive and settle themselves in the café with sunshine flowing in.

There was no need for me to have worried about the outcome of the afternoon. Two FRIENDS, found another common interest much to their delight. Then, by chance the Edible Garden within the pool's grounds was opened by one of their helpers. A quick request to join her and the FRIENDS were seeing beyond the private hedge and admiring the vegetables growing within its boundary.

The Edible Garden is well established, but more help is needed, and, as we found out help would be very much appreciated to keep it so. Interested ? Then 10.30am on a Wednesday morning is the time.

With a cup of fresh tea in our hands we sat together in the Formby sunshine and put the world to rights. Towards the end of our afternoon - a new lady - who has recently commenced Pilates joined us. Perhaps she will also become a FRIEND OF FORMBY POOL. Perhaps she will join our Theatre Group or perhaps she will come to one of our monthly meetings and make a wise and wonderful suggestion - who knows?
