Man arrested at Formby Station with four legs of lamb under his t shirt

A suspected thief wont have a leg to stand on in court after he was arrested at Formby station this morning hiding four legs of lamb under his t shirt.

Community officers arrested the male on suspicion of theft from a local supermarket after he was followed through the village by security staff.

An arresting officer quoted: “where’s the mint sauce?” upon his arrest. The male has since been taken to Copy Lane Police station for questioning over the alleged bizarre theft and the goods have now been returned to the supermarket, albeit a little defrosted.
