A competition to win a place at one of Hugh McAuley's Football Academy Summer Camps
This summer, children in Formby will once again be able to learn from one of football’s most experienced coaches, Hugh McAuley. Former Liverpool FC Youth and Reserve Team Coach Hugh McAuley, has announced his Football Academy will run two camps at Redgate Primary School during the Summer holidays.
The Formby Bubble are running a competition for one of our lucky readers to win a place at one of these amazing Summer camps at Redgate School in Formby. The value of the prize is £60 for three days. All you have to do is email us with your name, contact details and age to: email@example.com - We will pick a name at random to win the prize. You only have two weeks to enter, closing date is Monday 17th July at Midnight. The winner will be announced in our newspaper which is out on Thursday 20th July.
Each camp, aimed at girls and boys of all ages, will include a broad range of activities designed to help young people to learn and develop new skills and techniques in a fun, inclusive and rewarding atmosphere. Participants will face a series of challenging and enjoyable skill sessions, small-sided games, and tournaments with potential for Premiership Club trials.
The first camp will take place 24th to 27th July, followed by a second camp 14th to 17th August.

Hugh McAuley is an experienced football coach with a professional playing background. His playing carer started in 1966 with first team appearances at Liverpool FC amongst others throughout the Football League.
In 1982 Hugh joined the Merseyside Youth Association as Merseyside Football Development and Activities Officer. Here he organised and delivered coaching sessions and badge training to youth leaders as well as organising soccer courses for 7-16 year old.
In 1988 Hugh was approached by Kenny Dalglish asking him to return to the club to set up the clubs Centre of Excellence Programme for 9 to 14 year old players. Hugh made a huge impact on the club and in 1996 made history by winning the Football Association (FA) Youth Cup for the first time, the winning team included Michael Owen and Jamie Carragher – both trained by Hugh.
The later years of Hugh’s time at the club he spent managing and developing the reserve team. Hugh has developed world class players past and present including Robbie Fowler and Steven Gerrard.
The Hugh McAuley Football Academy will offer a range of activities including: Soccer Camps, Holiday Courses, PPA/After School Sessions, Football Consultancy, 1 on 1 Technical Training, Team Training, Pre-Season Training Schedules, Football Lectures. Typical Soccer Camps will include: Expert and fun technical training, Competitions and mini-games, Speed, agility and quickness training, Specialist Goalkeeper training, Potential for Premiership Club trials.
All coaches at the Academy are FA certified, and are all First Aid trained and CRB checked.
