Merseyside ACF Team win First Aid Training competition for eighth year running
First Aid training for Army Cadets is one of their major priorities and to train the quality of their knowledge and skill, a yearly competition is held and independently judged by St John's Ambulance.
This year the North West competition was held at Altcar Camp and was open to both the Army Cadets and the Combined Cadet Force with four to a team, from all the Counties in the North West, including the IOM.
The first part of the competition was how the team reacted to a major vehicle accident with different 'casualties'.
The second part was on a one to one basis, with each member of the team having, under pressure, to deal individually with different types of 'casualties'.
At the overall final, the St. Johns judges gave the top score to Merseyside ACF 'B' Team and they were announced the Winners. This was the eighth year in a row that a Merseyside ACF Team have won the NW Competition.
Colonel Gary Joynes presented the prizes and the Winners will now go forward to the National Competition in October. Well done!
