Beach car parks closed due to High Tides from today except Formby
Due to high tides, Southport Beach Car Park will be closed from Wednesday May 24 until after high tide on Tuesday May 30.
Due to high tides, Ainsdale Beach Car Park will be closed from Thursday, May 25 until after Sunday, May 28.
Please note that beach car parks can be closed at other times, for other reasons such as severe weather or organised events.
High Tide today in Formby is at 11:10am and will be 9.20m
High Tide tomorrow - Friday 26th - 12noon and is 9.40m
High Tide Saturday 27th - 12:48pm and is 9.40m
High Tide Sunday 28th - 1:11pm and is 9.30m
High Tide Bank Holiday Monday 29th May - 2pm and is 9.10m
The Sefton Coast enjoys over 22 miles of coast and foreshore areas with a range of facilities and nature reserves.
Access to the beaches varies by location and in some areas it may be difficult for pushchairs and wheelchairs to gain access. During the summer beach car parking is available at Ainsdale (PR8 2QB) and Southport (PR9 1RX), while at Lifeboat Road, Formby Point (L37 2EB) disabled access to the beach is provided from the car park. Crosby beach is backed by a promenade, where you can safely view the Another Place ‘Iron Men’.
Only Formby, Ainsdale and Southport are designated bathing beaches. During the summer water samples are taken and there are RNLI Beach Lifeguards on duty. Crosby Beach is not a designated bathing water.
