Seven Police vehicles and the helicopter in pursuit of stolen car in Formby

An incident in New Road, Formby caused a stir amongst residents when seven Police cars, a Police bike, Police dogs and the Police helicopter flying above for approx twenty minutes, descended on the quiet road on Easter Monday 17th April.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "Merseyside Police can confirm that officers attended New Road in Formby on Monday 17 April, after a suspected stolen car came to the attention of patrols."

"Officers, assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter, located the black Volkswagon Scirocco vehicle on New Road at about 2.30pm. The car was later seized for forensic examination."
