MP backs beer festival and local breweries in his constituency
Formby's MP, Bill Esterson enjoyed a night out at Formby brewery Red Star Ales' first beer festival at Formby Cricket, Hockey and Squash Club.
Mr Esterson, who is a member of the hockey club tried beer from the three Sefton breweries, who had beer at the festival.
Bill Esterson said, "Having a beer festival at Formby cricket, hockey and squash club was a great idea and judging by the number of people who turned up it has been a great success. We have three breweries in my constituency and I was really pleased that all three had their beer at the festival. Red Star Ales is in Formby, Neptune is in Maghull, while Rock the Boat is in Little Crosby. Their beers are reaching a wider audience and hundreds of people in Formby have all had the chance to try the beer as a result of the festival. I should probably point out that other beers were also available, including from elsewhere in the Liverpool City Region. The festival went really well, the beer was great and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Formby Cricket, Hockey and Squash club for hosting and to Glen and Dave at Red Star Ales for organising. Real ale festivals and real ale are doing really well and I am delighted that Formby has had such a successful festival. I am already looking forward to the next festival and to hearing about the ongoing success of three great manufacturing businesses in my constituency."
