It was a beautiful Spring day in Formby, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. It was a fantastic setting for the actors, Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy who were on location at the National Trust part of Formby beach for most of the day with the film crew.
On-lookers gathered around the scenes snapping photos and videos of Tom during the filming. The 39-year-old British star was joined by his four legged friend Woody in-between takes of the gritty BBC gangster period drama.
The 1920's set is a BBC2 gangster drama and Tom plays Londoner Alfie Solomons. The new series of Peaky Blinders, which follows the Shelby family as they expand their empire across the country, was confirmed last Autumn.

Actor Cillian Murphy revealed earlier this year that filming would begin this month. He said at the time: “The success of it is down to really great writing. People in America love it, people in Australia love it, people in Poland love it – it’s mad.”
Although Peaky Blinders is set in Birmingham, filming is taking place around Liverpool over the next few weeks. Actor Cillian Murphy who plays Thomas Shelby, has also been spotted in numerous filming locations around the North West. Kinmel Street, South Street, and Powis Street in Liverpool, were transformed into 1920s Birmingham, with retro-looking adverts placed on the side of buildings, and classic cars, horses and carts on the road.
