A three vehicle RTC on Formby bypass causes traffic chaos in rush hour
A road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the Formby bypass caused rush hour chaos this morning with traffic queues on the southbound carriageway between the BP and Tesco lasting for over an hour. The good news is that the accident was damage only.
Firefighters were called to a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A565 Formby Bypass just before 8.15pm on Thursday, February 16.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 7.55am and crews were alerted at 7.58am. They were on scene at 8.13am. Two fire engines attended the scene, together with the Search and Rescue Team. Merseyside Police was also in attendance, together with paramedics from North West Ambulance Service. Firefighters made the vehicles safe and assisted police officers in clearing the carriageway. A driver of one of the vehicles was taken to Southport and Formby District General Hospital for further checks. Crews remained at the scene for around 30 minutes.
