A Formby 11-year-old girl is starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber West End smash hit

Amelia Poggenpoel from Formby is starring in a West End hit that has smashed box office records. Amelia is playing Shonelle in new musical School of Rock. This is based on the smash hit 2003 film called School of Rock also.

Amelia attends Formby School of Dancing and Performing Arts. She has previously sang for Hollywood actor Shia LeBouf in 2015. The emotional performance left Shia LeBouf in tears. Also, Amelia has also played an orphan in Annie at Liverpool's Empire Theatre.

CBBC documentary My Life has followed the day-to-day life of Amelia and other children performing in the show, during the run-up to opening night.

School of Rock is at the New London Theatre on Drury Lane until April.
