Formby residents are outraged at car parking charges that were introduced in June.
From when the Hop and Horn on Chapel Lane closed earlier this month other local businesses and residents have concerns over the fall in other business in the area, blaming the car parking charges which were introduced on the 6th June.
Formby business owners have come together to think of ideas for regeneration in the village in an aim to improve business.
The group is hoping to become a trust as the steering group for Formby development.
Owner of The Good Wool Shop Isabel Jordan has previously spoken out about the struggles she is facing because of the car parking charges.
James Atherton from Formby said: "The recent parking charges have stopped me from popping into the village to get a few bits and pieces. These additional parking charges are a disgrace and the council should be ashamed of their actions.
He added: "These charges have had a knock on effect at the swimming pool as they have now increased their charges to stop people from parking there who are not using their facilities. How many more businesses need to close before the council take action."
