Formby Junior Sports Club news and Frank's report

FRANK'S REPORT 10/10/16

After many weeks of waiting Formby Junior Sports Club’s two youngest ever Girls’ Representative Teams played their first competitive matches in the Hightown Girls’ Junior Football League Festival for Under 7 and Under 8 teams.

All the team members of FJSC Rockets and FJSC Tornados played very well and the benefits of Inter Club practice and regular weekly coaching shone through. After playing in the four-way tournament, which also included Bold Rangers and Ormskirk West End, the deciding match was between the two FJSC teams. The Tornados and the Rockets gave everything in this very exciting end-to-end match. The final outcome finished with honours even and there were smiles all round. The scorers in the competition were Megan Hulse, Jessica Duncan, Isabella Moore and Holly Foster.

The following FJSC girls took part in the festival :-

Year Three girls – Evie Balshaw, Jessica Duncan, Lucy Duncan, Holly Foster, Megan Hulse, Florence Raikes, Harriet Tunley and Leah Naylor.

Year Two girls – Olivia Johnson, Sienna Fortune, Isabella Moore, Maria Byrne and Hollie Campbell.

GIRLS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS

FJSC Under 15’s good run of form continued with a 3 nil win over Town Green. Anna Rutherford scored a first half hat trick. Charlotte Doyle nearly added to the score with a long shot, which was well saved by the Town Green goalkeeper. Ellie Brewer and Sophie Dixon on the wings were a constant threat.

FJSC Under 14’s lost 4 nil to league leaders Academy Juniors from Bolton. With no subs available the Under 14’s worked extremely hard and were unlucky not to score with efforts from Lucy Robins and Lily Hamilton. Erin Smith in defence had a great game. Player of the match was Rebecca Cain.

FJSC Jets played well against Litherland Remyca but conceded three first half goals and eventually lost 4-1. Anna Johnson in her new right midfield position hit the post and Liberty Murphy scored in the second half. Left back Emily Porter played well.

At Under 12 level FJSC Rangers ran out winners against Rainford Rangers with goals from Lily Hall, Erin Denison and Chloe Siliprandi. Rosie Degeir played well in defence and Mollie Murphy was very commanding in midfield. The match between FJSC United and Litherland Remyca was settled late on in favour of Litherland. It was a game of near misses by United. A Hannah Allmark shot early on hit the post. Yasmin Jones was player of the match.

FJSC Under 11’s Albion were held to a goalless first half by S. and B. Rangers. Holly Rimmer made some stunning saves and Brooke Denison, Ella Stainton and Sofia O’nchorage made important tackled in midfield and defence. Yasmin Godsall and Harvee Hindley scored second half goals. FJSC Real Under 11’s and Hesketh Colts were very evenly matched. Ava Lewis scored and a Jess Lynch shot hit the woodwork. Player of the match was Jasmin Stevens.

FJSC Under 10’s Hotspurs played FJSC Under 9’s Atletico. Hotspurs’ Paige Leather scored four and Arianna Casson was also on target. Atletico fought back in the second half, scored and were denied further goals by Hotspurs goalkeeper Aimee Walsh.

BOYS’ REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS

FJSC Under 15’s drew 3-3 with Crosby Stuart. Owen Highton scored twice and Pedro Gomes added one to the total. The defensive pairing of James Honour and Harvey Nevin was outstanding and voted joint players of the match.

FJSC Under 14’s United were made to work very hard for their cup victory by Mitch Green. Max Soares made a crucial save and it was left for man of the match Ben Adams to score the winning goal with three minutes remaining. Lewis Constable and man of the match Max Cowen-Carr scored hat tricks for FJSC Under 14 Blacks in the 10-4 win over Southport and Ainsdale. Bryn Macy scored a brace. Michael Hughes and Sam Kendrick added one goal apiece in a good team display.

FJSC Under 13 Blacks suffered a heavy defeat by Redgate Green. Dylan Sudlow scored a stunning consolation goal with a spectacular shot from twenty-five yards. Tait Sheridan was man of the match. FJSC Under 12 Blacks gained a 7 nil victory against Hesketh Colts Blue. Dan King scored three, and Callum Davidson, Tobias Firth- Griffiths, Andrew Kimmance and man of the match Sam Cousens added one goal each.

FJSC Under 11 Whites produced a fantastic team performance in the match with Crosby Stuart. Ellis Parry scored and Jack Rummens and Bobby Hersey deserve special mention for tireless efforts throughout this very good match. Goalkeeper for the day Steven Mordaunt made a string of spectacular saves. Callum Williams, Jacob Lewis, Harry Knowles, Tom Rimmer and Harry Dowd all scored for FJSC Under 11 Blacks in the fixture with Southport Trinity Blue.

One of the most exciting matches of the weekend had to be the cup-tie between FJSC Under 10 Blacks and Southport Trinity White. There were half a dozen goals before extra time and a penalty shoot out. Goalkeeping duties were shared between Dominic Hamilton and Dylan Riley. Oliver Mercer, Reuben Gowling and Jack Yarwood all scored. The same three players scored penalties after no further goals were scored in extra time. Sam Mycek coolly took the final penalty.

FJSC Under 9’s were also in cup action. The match with Redgate Green was settled by just one goal with both teams having their fair share of the match. Jamie Simpson was on the score sheet. Man of the match was Gabe Bellemey.

FJSC Under 8 Rangers were without a match but the other two Under 8 teams continued to impress. Ivan Weights, Dilan Sathiyanathan, man of the match Joe Hughes, Connor Daulby, Luke Lewis and Finlay Hunter were all scorers for the Whites against Burscough Dynamo. Dan Mortimer, Liam Kirk, Finley Richards, Micky Denison, man of the match Thomas Dent, Koray Murray-Cakar and Harry Lofthouse scored the goals for the Blacks in their encounter with Town Green.

The two newest boys’ FJSC Under 7 teams are also doing the club proud. After just over one month’s football the early signs are that we have two very promising teams. FJSC Under 7 Whites played Phoenix. The Whites scorers were Jacob Lynch, man of the match Danny Allmark, Rohan Maker and Dominic Maxwell. The Blacks played well against Crosby Stuart with Max McBride, Lewis Forsyth and Archie Beckett scoring. There was another excellent display from goalkeeper Ryan Kennedy.
