Flasher strikes in Formby for a second time in a few months

A woman was flashed by a man on Cricket Path yesterday evening - Friday 4th March.

On Friday evening a woman was walking along Cricket Path in Formby and a man flashed her. The woman shouted at him to get away but, he then came forward in her direction at which point she ran. The lady was upset and panicking when she told people at Formby Cricket Club of the incident.

Three members of Formby Cricket Club gave chase after the man who was wearing glasses with a bobble hat and a waist length jacket. The man who is believed to be approximately fifty years old, ran towards Formby village.

The Police have been informed of the incident.

This is not the first time there has been a flasher in Formby, The Police took statements just five months ago, back in November 2015, after a suspected flasher exposed himself to a 17 year old girl in Formby who was near the village on Brows Lane. She was flashed by a white male dressed all in black wearing glasses and a wooly hat. He was thought to be in his late 60's, early 70's.

A further incident back in October 2014 when Formby High had to send out letters following two incidents where female students were followed by a male who exposed himself. On both occasions, students were walking along footpaths in the late afternoon. Advice was issued to students not to walk home alone and to avoid quiet areas and footpaths.

People need to be aware of these incidents. We are not sure if it could be the same person but, please be extra vigilant when out and about.
