End of an era for Formby Bridge railings

Work will start on Formby Bridge today to replace the railings which have lined the bridge for many years. The work will be done by Dowhigh and will take up to five weeks to complete.

The budget was approved by Formby Parish Council for the new railings which will be black. The old railings will be sold and the money given to a local charity.

Traffic Lights will be in place on Formby bridge from this morning Monday 28th September. This will also cause major disruptions for residents because the level crossing at Freshfield station is still closed until Tuesday night or maybe even Wednesday.
