Beach Clean in Formby

On Thursday 20th August, the Sea Life Centre in Manchester hosted a beach Clean on our Bubble beach.

"We at SEA LIFE believe that helping the environment is the best way to protect our native sea creatures around Britain. That's why we're working with the National Trust to host Beach Cleans in the North West. This not only helps the marine life within it, but will provide a better environment for us all. As our native marine life can't talk to say thanks, we also give every volunteer FREE entry to SEA LIFE Manchester to show our appreciation!".

This is their tweet....

This is also the tweet from Just Bee Drinks who also helped with the clean up.

Just Bee Drinks also teamed up to get involved with the Beach Clean with Selfridges.

Well done to everyone that helped and a great big THANKYOU to all involved.

"Some interesting artifacts found at our Formby #BeachClean yesterday! Thank you to everyone who came along to help!"

If you want to be involved in a beach clean, there is another one on Formby beach this September.....Click HERE TO GO TO FULL STORY AND SIGN UP

The Great British Beach Clean is back this September and they are looking for volunteers.

Andy Laverick is a local Marine Conservation Society Sea Champion - local based volunteer. He is organising the Great British Beach Clean again this September for Formby.

This September, Marine Conservation Society again is running the "Great British Beach Clean" as part of their Beachwatch surveying programme - helping people all around the UK to care for their coastline. The event runs between 18th and 21st of September

There is a big beach clean event at Formby this year. Formby's beach clean is on Monday 21st of September from 10.00 am. It will be at Freshfield beach again (on the national trust property). The previous national events last year saw a record breaking number of volunteers collect and recorded a whopping 273,747 pieces of litter. We would like to invite anyone that would be interested in helping to sign-up for this great LOCAL event to please visit www.mcsuk.org/greatbritishbeachclean.

The previous event was televised on National TV at Freshfield and was a great success. Please get involved and help to keep our Bubble Beach amazing.
