Gang break into local Newsagents in Formby

A gang of men broke into a Formby newsagents last night.

Aughton News is on Church Road, opposite Formby Police Station, which is no longer in use. The thieves broke in wearing ski masks and armed with crow bars through the front entrance. They completely cleared out all the cigarettes in the Independant store.

The alarms were activated at 2:41am this morning, the owner arrived less than ten minutes later and the Police a few minutes after him but, the thieves had already managed to get away with thousands of pounds of cigarettes.

It is not known if this is the same gang that broke into Five Star and got away with four vehicles early hours this morning also.

There was also an attempted break-in last week of another independant Newsagents in Formby but, fortunately not successful.

This break-in will obviously have a devastating effect on yet another family run independant store in our Bubble.
