Formby resident confronted by burglar who forced his way into his home

Police appeal for witnesses after raid committed during broad daylight.

Merseyside Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglar forced his way into a victim’s home in Formby in broad daylight.

The crime was committed in Formby at 1.30pm last Thursday (July 23).

A detective from the West Sefton Neighbourhood Police Team said: “Officers were called to a report of Burglary in Bushbys Lane, Formby, where a lone male offender had forced entry to the house via the front door.

“The offender was disturbed by the occupier and left on foot.

“A witness reporting seeing a white van in suspicious circumstances in the area at the same time.

“It is not known at this time if the vehicle was linked to the burglary.

“Offences of the nature are not commonplace within the area.

“Enquiries into this incident remain on-going.

“I would appeal to anyone with any information that might help our enquiries into this incident to contact us.”
