Six injured in five car pile-up on Formby Bypass

The emergency services were called to the Formby Bypass, A565 following a 999 call this morning, Wednesday 22 July 2015. A five car pile up caused congestion at peak hour.
The pile up happened on the southbound carriageway approaching the roundabout at around 8.30am.
A witness said:
“I was approaching the roundabout, when a Nissan ran into a ford at speed causing a pile up.
The Nissan swerved into my lane before hitting the back end of the Ford, I was very lucky not to have been involved in collision”.
Police and Ambulance attended the scene and Paramedics treated the injured at the scene.
