MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to Formby Band MD Louise Hough, who's just been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
A music teacher who runs Formby Brass Band has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
Louise Hough, 54, was rewarded for her dedication to the Resonate music service.
The trumpeter, who also runs Formby Brass Band, said she first became involved with Resonate when it was known as Liverpool Music Support Service and she started music lessons aged 11.
She said: “I started learning the trumpet aged 11 and it just turned my whole life around.
“I am just glad to be able to give other children the opportunities I had.”
Louise, from Croxteth, said: “I got the letter through in the post and I just couldn’t believe it.
“I am just overwhelmed.”
Louise runs the Resonate Music Studios at Gateacre School on a Wednesday night and at Notre Dame Catholic College on a Thursday.

Formby Brass Band have quite a few events coming up this summer. Here are the details.
