UPDATE:
A biker escaped with only minor injuries after a crash on the Formby bypass.
The motorbike collided with a minibus at around 6.20pm, causing heavy congestion.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “A member of the public called to report the collision, near Ince Blundell, involving a minibus and a motorbike.
“There was heavy congestion afterwards and the cyclist had minor injuries.”
The biker was checked at the scene by the North West Ambulance Service.
Large queues of traffic were caused after emergency services arrived, according to reports.
Initial calls to police suggested the biker had fallen off the vehicle, but it was later confirmed it had collided with the minibus.
