Southport Bar Doorman Denies Manslaughter of Formby Man.....

A doorman is to stand trial for manslaughter after a man he struck outside a Southport bar later died.
Stuart Humphreys, 37, of Kingfield Road, Liverpool, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today in relation to the death of Scott Sheard in 2012.
The charge arises from an incident between Humphreys and Mr Sheard in October 2009, outside Southport’s Destination Bar, where Humphreys was working as a bouncer.

The doorman struck Mr Sheard during an altercation, which resulted in him suffering permanent brain damage.
Mr Sheard, a roofer, of Freshfield Road, Formby, died in January 2012 of septicaemia, or blood poisoning.
Humphreys has denied a charge of manslaughter and a trial expected to last five to seven weeks will start on April 15 at the crown court.
Humphreys, wearing glasses, a white shirt, grey tie and black jacket in the dock, was released on bail.
