REGIONAL - Bike Thieves have put lives at risk.....

For anyone that does not know, Southport Lifeboat Station has been broken into and they have had their Quad Bikes stolen and desperately need them back. This story had 274 Shares on our facebook page, thanks for sharing this everyone. Here's their story..... Unfortunately our lifeboat house has been broken in to over night and our two quad bikes have been stolen. It appears that only our quad bikes have been taken and all other equipment remains safe. The two quads were only recently replaced and the cost of doing this again will be in excess of £15,000, plus a lot of time for our volunteers to fit all of the replacement kit such as VHF radio, GPS etc to them. Please remember that we are a charity completely dependant on public donations. Whilst we have insurance, there is still a lot of work that must be done by volunteers to sort out repairing the boathouse door and replacing vehicles as quickly as possible. This selfish act HAS put people's lives at risk. Our quads are used on over 50% of the callouts we attend and have saved many lives along our coast. The quads allow our volunteers to access difficult areas of the beach quickly and safely, whilst carrying important life saving equipment such as first aid kits, mud rescue equipment and stretchers. We can only hope that our quads are not needed during this time and that nobody gets hurt because of this selfish act.
