Formby Village closed off after serious RTC

Chapel Lane closed off by police today while an elderly woman was taken to hospital

Chapel Lane in Formby Village has been closed off by police following serious RTC when a car hit an elderly lady at about 11:45am today.

A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "Emergency services attended the scene and the woman has been taken to Aintree Hospital with a serious head injury."

Road closures are still in place.

One driver said: "I tried to get through Formby Village but was redirected by police. It is all closed off."
