It is sad news for Formby village as Youssef Strength Gym has confirmed it will be closing its doors at the end of February.
The gym opened in April 2021 and has been based on Chapel Lane, becoming a valued part of the local community. The closure is due to the lease not being renewed by the landlord.
Founder, John Youssef shared the news with customers, thanking everyone who has supported the gym over the years.
John said: ”We are closing on February 28th due to the lease not being renewed by the landlord.“
“All memberships have been cancelled. No more payments will be taken. Some memberships are still valid for a couple of weeks depending on your payment date.”
“It’s only £10/week to use the gym if your membership has ran out. Anyone who has paid upfront for 3/6/12 months, and have time left after Feb 28th will be refunded in cash.”
Youssef Strength Gym was more than just a place to work out. It provided a welcoming and supportive environment for people of all ages and abilities, from beginners taking their first steps into fitness to experienced lifters and athletes. Many members found confidence, motivation and friendship within its walls.
The gym was also home to a personal training academy, helping people build skills and qualifications while learning in a real gym environment.
