Village Nativity 2024 Bringing the Christmas Story to Hightown
Churches Together in Formby, Altcar, and Hightown are excited to announce the return of the annual Christmas Nativity. This year, the cherished event will take place in Hightown for the first time, marking a special occasion for the local community.
The main performance will be held at:
St Stephen’s Church Hall, Hightown (L38 0BL)
Saturday, 14th December at 11 a.m.
This festive production, presented in partnership with Make Noise Choirs, promises to be a magical experience for all. The soloist Lilly Allen will take on the role of Mary, with baby Jesus played by Parker Mills, whose mother, Victoria, also portrayed Mary in her youth—bringing this tradition full circle.
While the Nativity has traditionally been performed at Formby Pool for many years, this year’s change in venue comes as St Stephen’s Church in Hightown is hosting the Chair of Churches Together. The decision to hold the event in Hightown has created excitement in the community, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to share this festive tradition across the area.
Rest assured, Formby will still play a big part in the celebrations:
• Nativity performances will take place in six Formby primary schools during the week following the Hightown production.
• The popular Formby Christmas Windows Challenge is back! Spot the hidden stars in Christmas window displays throughout Formby Village during December. This festive activity, coordinated by Andrea Dell, Catie Page, and Siobhan Farnell, is always a hit with families.
We are also pleased to confirm that the Easter Passion Play and next year’s Nativity will return to Formby Pool.
This year’s event is free to attend, and everyone is warmly welcomed to join in the festive spirit. Don’t miss this heartwarming community tradition—come and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with us in Hightown!
