Sunflower Stroll returns tomorrow as popular Hightown attraction announces opening date

The countdown is almost over as The Sunflower Stroll has confirmed it will officially reopen to visitors on Friday 31 July 2026, welcoming families back for another summer surrounded by thousands of beautiful sunflowers.

Located on Gorsey Lane, Hightown (L38 3RB), the much loved attraction will be open seven days a week from 10am until 5pm, with last admission at 4pm, and will remain open until the sunflowers have finished blooming.

No advance booking is required, making it easy for families to enjoy a day out whenever the weather is right.

Visitors can look forward to a full day of outdoor fun, with attractions including Pick Your Own Sunflowers (£1 each), a woodland trail, den building, a giant sandpit, straw bale play area, tractor tyre play area, a chill out field, and plenty of photo props throughout the sunflower fields.

There is also a large picnic area with benches, and visitors are very welcome to bring their own picnic. The on site Sunflower Shack and its annex will be serving ice creams, snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Admission prices are:

• Adults: £7

• Children (aged 2 to 16): £4

• Children under 2: Free

Free parking is available on site, with bicycle parking also provided. The attraction can also be reached from Hightown Railway Station via Sandy Lane, with an approximate walking time of 15 minutes.

Facilities include flushing toilets and baby changing facilities.

The Sunflower Stroll team is advising visitors to wear sensible footwear, as the recent hot, dry weather has left the fields dusty due to the sandy soil. Long trousers are also recommended for those using the straw bale play area and woodland trail.

As a working outdoor attraction, visitors should also be aware that the fields are a natural environment, with uneven paths, nettles, prickly plants, biting insects and other natural obstacles. Children must be supervised at all times.

Please note that dogs are not permitted anywhere on the site.

The team says every sunflower season brings different challenges, from drought and strong winds to hungry wildlife, weeds and plant diseases, but they have once again worked hard to create a beautiful experience for visitors.
