Ravenmeols Lane Closed from today until February for roadworks

Motorists and residents are being advised of a major road closure on Ravenmeols Lane in Formby, which is now in effect and will remain in place for several weeks.
The road is blocked off from Formby Street so acces into and out of Formby Street is okay.
The closure came into force today, Friday 9th January, and is scheduled to remain until 11:59pm on Tuesday 11th February 2026.

What’s happening?
The closure has been put in place by United Utilities Water to allow essential works to be carried out. The works are currently listed as in progress and relate to a disconnection or alteration of water supply, which falls under a “new connection” category.

There is no footway (pavement) closure, meaning pedestrian access will remain available while the works are underway. (The footpath is open).
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys and to follow signed diversion routes in the area.
