Range High School Celebrates GCSE Success for the Class of 2026

There are celebrations at Range High School in Formby today as Year 11 students receive their GCSE results, marking the culmination of years of hard work, determination and commitment.

The school has congratulated its Class of 2026 after students achieved a strong set of results, with 23% of all grades awarded at Grades 9 to 7, the equivalent of the former A* to A grades.

Results also show that 77% of students achieved Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, while 73% secured five or more passes at Grades 9 to 4, including English and Maths.

The school recorded an overall Attainment 8 score of 50.36, reflecting students’ performance across a broad range of GCSE subjects.

Range High School praised the dedication and resilience shown by its Year 11 pupils throughout their time at the school, describing the opportunity to watch them develop into talented, kind and capable young people as a privilege.

For many students, today’s results will also mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Some will return to Range High Sixth Form in September to begin A Level and BTEC courses, while others will move on to colleges or start apprenticeships.

In a message to its departing Year 11 students, the school said it was incredibly proud of their achievements and wished them every success for the future, adding that wherever their next steps take them, they will always remain part of the Range High family.
