Only four Formby Junior Sports Club matches were played at the weekend due To rain. Franks report…

Only four Formby Junior Sports Club matches were played at the weekend due to the cancellation of all Sefton’s MBC pitches including Deansgate Lane.

REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES

FJSC Under 8 Blacks played away at Southport Trinity White. The game started off with a well worked team goal scored by FJSC.  Alfie Madigan played a brilliant cross in from the right and Jack Brown was there at the back post to tap it in.  FJSC were playing with confidence and added another goal a few minutes later with a composed finish in the top right corner by Eoin Follett. Southport Trinity regrouped and added a goal before half time.

The second-half was end to end. FJSC continued their brilliant passing and Jack Brown scored twice to complete his hat trick. In defence Otto Johnson remained calm throughout and defended very well and Alfie Madigan worked tirelessly in midfield.  Trinity also kept playing with determination and scored twice to set up an exciting finish. There were some great saves made by FJSC goalkeeper Jarvis Evans including a penalty save that helped FJSC stay one goal ahead to the final whistle.  Jack Brown and Alfie Madigan were Joint Players of the Match.

FJSC Under 8 Whites were away at Southport & Ainsdale Amateurs with a diminished team.  The boys struggled to get a stronghold in the game against a very good team. Southport & Ainsdale managed to score some very well taken goals.  Joshua Gillespie normally in midfield volunteered to play in goal and made some good saves. All five boys played their hearts out never giving up. The team created some really good chances but finding the net was a tough task against a really good keeper. The final result did not reflect on how the team performed especially as there were no substitutes available.  Elliott Dyment was again unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Charlie Vernon worked very hard and his efforts brought him a goal.  Oliver Parrish gave his all running his heart out until the final whistle. Harry Hughes was the Man of the Match for an outstanding performance which brought him a much deserved goal as well.

FJSC Under 6 Whites were in action once again on the artificial pitches at Goals in Netherton where they played LitherlandBlacks.  The boys played very well scoring on breakaways after winning the ball in tackles.  Arthur Higgins, Thomas Mitchell, Noah Ignatowicz, Archie Parrish  and Theo Thomas were all on the scoresheet in a good team display.

FJSC Under 6 Blacks also playing in the Sefton Development League had a tough match against ESC Grey.  With no substitutes to call upon all the boys made a valiant effort.   The team tired as the match went on.  Teddy Marron, Max Healey and Thomas Mitchell all played well.   Theo Thomas scored with a fantastic finish and Ollie Jones was Man of the Match for his very good tackling.
