New Howdens store in Formby now recruiting Warehouse Person ahead of opening

The new Howdens store on Liverpool Road, Formby, which is expected to open soon, has begun recruiting staff and is currently advertising for a permanent Warehouse Person.
The role will see the successful applicant play a key part in the day to day running of the new depot, ensuring stock is organised, stored safely and ready for trade customers to collect or for delivery.
Howdens says it operates an “in stock” business, meaning warehouse staff are essential in ensuring customers receive the products they need, when they need them. The position is described as a hands on role within a busy, fast paced and team focused environment, where maintaining high standards of organisation, safety and customer service is a priority.
The successful candidate will be responsible for unloading deliveries, checking stock accurately, preparing orders for dispatch, carrying out regular stock checks, maintaining accurate records, keeping the warehouse clean and organised through effective stock rotation, carrying out daily checks on forklift trucks and equipment, and supporting customers with collections and general warehouse operations.
Applicants should have a good understanding of stock control and health and safety, strong organisational and communication skills, good literacy and numeracy, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A valid forklift truck licence is desirable, although it is not essential.
The role is based on a 40 hour working week with no evening, Sunday or Bank Holiday working.
