Most matches were cancelled due to bad weather apart from two Under 6 teams. Franks report here…

Formby Junior Sports Club two Under 6 teams were able to play their matches at the weekend on the artificial playing surface at Goals in Netherton. Every other scheduled home and away match for the FJSC Representative teams were postponed due to frozen pitches. FJSC Inter Club also had to cancelled as well.

REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES

The two Under 6 teams braved the freezing weather conditions to play their Sunday matches in the Sefton Development League.

FJSC Under 6 Whites played Stocky Grey. It was a very close match in the early stages until the Stocky Grey team pulled away as the Whites began to tire after losing one of their key players due to illness. The effort made by the FJSC boys could not be faulted as they tried so hard from start to finish. Noah Ignatowicz scored a hat trick and was the Referee’s Man of the Match. The Manager’s Player of the Match went to Sonny Clarke. Arthur Higgins, Cormac Nice and Leo Rogers also played very well.

FJSC Under 6 Blacks were in action against Marina Orange. Man of the Match Thomas Mitchell scored a very good hat trick. All the boys played extremely well against a strong team in very challenging weather conditions.

The Under 6’s although still to play at their home ground of Deansgate Lane, Formby have now added the Estadio Azteca Stadium to the other famous grounds they have played at this season of Wembley, the San Siro and the Nou Camp all at Goals in Netherton!

It is hoped that all football for FJSC’s members will be back on again next weekend. Fixtures for the Representative teams can be found on the club website formbyjuniorsportsclub.co.uk.
