Lifeboat & Coastguard callout – missing swimmers off Formby Beach

Formby Bubble has been informed that earlier this evening, Southport Lifeboat and HM Coastguard responded to an emergency call reporting two missing swimmers off Formby Beach.

Quads from Southport Lifeboat entered the beach at Ainsdale to begin a shoreline search, while the lifeboat Heather White launched from Southport to mirror the search at sea.

Thankfully, shortly after the search began, both individuals were located safely ashore, and all rescue teams were stood down.

A huge thank you to the volunteer crews and emergency services who respond so quickly and professionally to incidents like this — always ready to save lives at sea.
