Formby Village Transformed by a Magical Christmas Yarn Bombing Trail!

Our incredible group of Formby Yarn Bombers have been hard at work creating something truly magical for the festive season — and it’s almost here! 🧶🎅🏻

From Saturday 1st November, Formby Village will come alive with a wonderful Christmas Yarn Bombing Trail that’s set to fill the heart of our community with colour, creativity and Christmas cheer.

More than 40 handmade knitted and crocheted creations — each with its own festive theme — will be displayed throughout the village in our fantastic independent shops, cafés and restaurants. From tiny snowmen and Santa hats to giant baubles and Christmas characters, each one has been lovingly crafted by our talented local yarn artists.

Your mission is simple — find them all! Some will be big and bold, others small and cleverly hidden, but each one adds a touch of festive magic to Formby. As you explore, keep your eyes peeled in shop windows, on doorways, and in unexpected places — you never know where one might appear!

When you spot one, simply scan its QR code to share a photo of your discovery and show the Yarn Bombers how many you’ve found. It’s a fantastic way to get involved, have fun with friends and family, and celebrate the creativity that makes our village so special.

The trail will run from Saturday 1st November right through the Christmas season, staying in place until after Father Christmas has been. It’s a wonderful excuse to explore Formby Village, support local businesses, and soak up that festive feeling as the lights and decorations begin to twinkle.

So, grab a hot chocolate, wrap up warm, and set off on a magical adventure through Formby. With surprises around every corner, this Christmas trail promises to bring smiles, laughter and festive spirit to all who take part.
