Formby bodybuilder John Youssef has achieved the greatest milestone of his competitive career, securing 3rd place in the world at the prestigious PCA World Championships. This incredible bronze-medal finish marks his highest-ever global ranking and puts both John and Formby firmly on the international bodybuilding map.
John — a proud Formby resident and owner of Youssef Strength, the local gym he runs — delivered a standout performance that caps off an extraordinary 2025 season. This year alone, he secured four major wins, including titles at the PCA North East, BPA Masters Allstars, Mr Celtic, and the 2Bros Coaching Cup.
But it was his performances on the sport’s biggest stages that truly defined his year. After a hard-fought 2nd place at the PCA British Finals, where he proved himself one of the UK’s elite masters athletes, John went on to surpass all previous results with a world-level 3rd place, improving on his past top-10 and 6th-place finishes.

John’s success is felt far beyond the competition floor. As a respected coach and business owner at his Formby gym, he continues to inspire his clients and the wider fitness community, proving that world-class discipline, passion, and drive can grow right here at home.
With the 2025 season now wrapped up, John is already looking ahead to his next huge challenge: the Mr. Universe competition in May 2026. His ambition is clear and unwavering: “I am determined to win and earn my pro card,” he said — setting the stage for what could become the defining moment of his bodybuilding journey.
A massive congratulations to John on bringing a World Championship bronze back to Formby — an achievement our whole community can be proud of.
