Formby residents waking up to no water this morning due to a leak on Formby Bypass - Still ongoing


UPDATE at 10:49am

MON, 11TH OCT AT 10:49AM

Good news, we’ve now repaired the leak on Kenyons Lane. Our engineers will be attending today to carry out some essential work on the network. We are continuing to supply water from a different area to keep your taps flowing whilst we complete the necessary repair work. Thank you for your continued patience.



UPDATE at 8:11am

MON, 11TH OCT AT 08:11AM Our engineers are still busy repairing the burst water main on Kenyons Lane. Unfortunately, due to the complex nature of the repair, work will be ongoing throughout the course of the day. We are continuing to supply water from a different area to keep your taps flowing whilst we complete the necessary repair work. We’re sorry for the inconvenience, we’ll provide further updates once the repair has been completed.

  1. MON, 11TH OCT AT 03:08AM Just to let you know, we’re still repairing the leak on Kenyons Lane which is taking longer than expected. Thanks for your patience, we’re working as fast as we can and hope to have your taps flowing again very soon.

To keep your taps flowing while we repair the leak at Kenyons Lane, we’ll be delivering water to you from a different area which may mean your water pressure is lower than normal. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have the leak repaired as soon as possible.


UPDATE at 6:46pm: SUN, 10TH OCT AT 06:46PM

Good news, we’ve now repaired the leak on Formby Bypass. However, our leakage engineers are still repairing the leak at Kenyons Lane and we hope to get your supply back to normal as quickly as we can. We’re sorry for the ongoing inconvenience, and thank you for your continued patience.

UPDATE at 4:46pm:

SUN, 10TH OCT AT 04:46PM A further leak has been located on Kenyons Lane affecting customers in L37, has been spotted and reported to us. Our engineers are on site to begin repairing the leaking water main. We are continuing to supply water from a different area to keep your taps flowing whilst we complete the neccessary repair work.

SUN, 10TH OCT AT 02:47PM Our team of engineers are working hard to repair the burst water main on Formby Bypass. We are continuing to supply water from a different area to keep your taps flowing whilst the repair work is completed. Thank you for your continued patience whilst we work to resolve this issue. United Utilities have released a Statement regarding the situation in Formby.

A spokesperson from United Utilities said: “A leak on the Formby Bypass affecting customers in L37, has been spotted and reported to us. We have been out to investigate and found this to be the cause for some of you having no water or just a trickle.”


“Our leakage engineers should be on site as soon as possible. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have your taps flowing again very soon.”
