Formby Junior Sports Club’s Under 13 Blacks completed a memorable season by clinching the Hightown Spring Premier League title last Saturday morning. It was also Medals Dayon the final Inter Club session of the season.

REPRESENTATIVE TEAM MATCHES

FJSC Under 13 Blacks went into their midweek match knowing only a win against Crosby Stuart would keep their title hopes alive, and they delivered with a dominant performance from start to finish. Controlling the game in both halves, FJSC set the tempo early and never allowed Crosby Stuart to gain a foothold.

Isaac Jones led the way with two well-taken goals, putting FJSC firmly in control. Further goals from Charlie Richardson and Josh Burr capped off an assured display, reflecting the team’s composure and quality across the pitch. It was a comfortable and deserved 4 nil win that kept FJSC firmly in contention for the title, with confidence high going into the remaining fixture on Saturday.

FJSC needed all three points against Marina Sands to clinch the Hightown Premier League title.  It was a thrilling winnertakesall encounter.  The FJSC team produced a composed and resilient performance under immense pressure.

FJSC started the match brightly and were quickly rewarded with two early goals. Oscar Buch-Platt opened the scoring before Isaac Jones added a second soon after, giving FJSC a deserved 2–0 lead going into halftime after a strong, controlled firsthalf display.

The second half began with FJSC on the front foot once again, but the game was turned on its head when Marina Sands struck twice in quick succession to level the score at 2–2. With momentum briefly swinging, FJSC showed great character and maturity to regroup.

Isaac Jones restored the lead with a welltaken finish, settling nerves and putting FJSC back in control. The decisive moment followed shortly after, as Oscar Buch-Platt unleashed a superb longrange strike to make it 4–2 and put the result beyond doubt.

Excellent game management and disciplined defending in the final ten minutes saw FJSC safely see out the victory. The result confirmed a memorable achievement, with FJSC reclaiming the Hightown Premier League title for the third time in four seasons. It was a fitting end to a remarkable campaign.

FJSC Under 14 Blacks went into the match with Silcox Villa as Hightown League Champions and used the opportunity to rotate the boys into some unfamiliar roles and it was great to see how they adapted to take full control of the game. Two first half goals from Ben Harris and a goal each from Fabian Reilly and Seb Burdett Clarke helped the team go into half time with a 4-2 lead. FJSC kept up the pressure after the interval and added three more goals.  Connor Howells scored twice and Will Madutlela was also on target with a goal for a 7-3 victory. Man of the Match chosen by the parents was Nathan Lynch.

In midweek FJSC Under 14 Blacks play the same opposition in the semi-final of the cup.
