Formby Junior Sports Club held its Annual Presentation Evening at the Gild Hall on Friday night
Formby Junior Sports Club held its Annual Presentation Evening on Friday 12th May at the Formby Gild Hall. There were two ceremonies on the night. The first was for all club members in Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 which was followed by the Year 5, Year 6, Year 7 and Year 8’s. The following day, there was also a short ceremony for the four year olds, Reception and Year 1 children. Every FJSC member was invited to attend with their parents.
Master of Ceremonies, FJSC Chairman Frank Rourke said that the club’s 64th year has not been one when many trophies have been won but one that has seen the club grow in every age group and now there were over 250 members. It has been a season in which every Representative team has made remarkable improvements and the Inter Club Section has gone from strength to strength. It had been a collective effort of coaching and Inter Club games, team managers coaching, parental support and encouragement for all the boys. Not only have the boys developed their skills but more importantly they have enjoyed their football in a safe environment and have made many new friends as well. It has been a very good year and a real team effort.
Executive Committee members John Warren, Keith Jones and Ray Highton were thanked for all their hard work throughout the year and presented every FJSC member with an end of season medal to congratulate each individual for their wonderful efforts during the year. Trophies were also presented as well.
Also thanked for her unbelievable amount of work for the club behind the scenes with club administration, membership, club finance and the FJSC website was Marg Rourke. Inter Club Coaches Jordan Parker and Tom Ringham were also thanked for coaching every Inter Club member each Saturday throughout the season.
