Exclusive: Stunning new luxury sports lounge set to open in the heart of Formby this September

Formby is about to welcome an exciting new addition to the village, and Formby Bubble can exclusively reveal more details about the impressive new venue preparing to open its doors later this month.

Potters Sports Lounge Formby is coming to 27 Brows Lane, Formby, L37 4HS, right in the heart of the village and next door to Emilie’s.

And from what has been revealed so far, this is certainly not going to be your average sports bar.

The team behind Potters is creating a stylish, sophisticated and high end venue combining premium drinks, live sport and social competitive games, all within luxurious surroundings designed to appeal to men, women, groups of friends and families.

The idea is to create somewhere you can dress up and enjoy cocktails and fine wines just as easily as you can meet friends for a game of pool, challenge someone to darts or settle down to watch one of the biggest sporting occasions of the year.

Five championship pool tables 🎱

Pool is set to be a major feature at Potters, with an impressive five championship standard tables being installed.

These will include four Supreme tournament pool tables, alongside a Rasson Ultimate Match pool table, giving both serious players and those simply looking for a fun night with friends a fantastic place to play.

Professional interactive darts 🎯

Darts fans are also in for a treat.

Potters will feature three professional standard interactive darts lanes, bringing the increasingly popular competitive social darts experience to the centre of Formby.

Whether you are an experienced player or have never thrown a dart in your life, the concept is designed to make it a fun and sociable part of a night out.

A World Championship snooker table ⭐

One of the real showpieces inside the new venue will be its Star World Championship snooker table.

It is another indication of the level of investment and attention to detail going into Potters and should make the venue particularly exciting for Formby’s snooker fans.

Ten big screens and the biggest sporting events 📺⚽

Of course, a sports lounge needs some serious screens, and Potters will have plenty.

An incredible 10 live sports viewing screens are being installed throughout the venue, including a huge OLED Evo AI big screen, allowing customers to follow the action wherever they are sitting.

With both Sky Sports and TNT Sports, Potters plans to showcase the biggest sporting occasions from around the globe.

Premier League football, Champions League nights, boxing, Formula One, golf, rugby, darts, snooker and other major sporting events will all be part of the experience.

Imagine a huge Liverpool or Everton game, a major boxing night or a dramatic final being shown across the venue with the atmosphere of a sports bar but the surroundings and service of a premium lounge.

Cocktails, fine wines and beers 🍸🥂

The sport may be a major attraction, but the bar itself is intended to be every bit as important.

Potters will offer a bespoke selection of beers, fine wines and cocktails, with the owners aiming to create a venue people will want to visit even when there isn’t a big match taking place.

The sophisticated black and gold styling already revealed gives a glimpse of the atmosphere they are hoping to create, with a premium bar, comfortable seating and carefully designed lighting forming part of the new look.

The premises will also feature air conditioning and heating, allowing the venue to remain comfortable throughout the year.

Right in the heart of Formby 📍

Perhaps one of the biggest attractions is its location.

Potters Sports Lounge is opening at 27 Brows Lane, Formby, L37 4HS, next to Emilie’s and right in the centre of Formby village.

That puts it just moments away from Chapel Lane and amongst Formby’s existing restaurants, cafés, shops and bars.

The owners describe Potters as a social competitive sports venue, but they are keen to emphasise that it has been designed for a much wider audience than the traditional image of a sports bar.

They want it to be somewhere couples can enjoy a drink, friends can meet for an evening out, families can enjoy the sporting facilities and groups can get together for some friendly competition.

Work is now progressing towards the big opening, with Potters Sports Lounge due to open during September 2026.

Before the official public opening, Potters will hold an exclusive VIP, press and media opening night, giving invited guests the opportunity to see the completed venue, meet the team and experience what Potters has to offer.
