Emergency services called out for a missing little girl on Formby beach today
Emergency Services were called out to #Formby beach this afternoon after a little girl went missing.
It was a glorious day and the National Trust site in Formby was extremely busy and completely full by 12 noon. The beach had hundreds of visitors and was bustling and crowded when a 7-year-old girl went missing.
A spokesperson for Southport Offshore Rescue said: “We were called out on Saturday 20th May at 3pm to Formby beach. Southport Quads and ILB tasked to assist in a multi agency search for a missing 7 year old girl at Formby.”
“Our assests searched the tideline, beach and sand dunes between Ainsdale and Formby Point.”
“Thankfully, the girl was located safe and well at 16:45.”
Police sirens were heard across Formby for a few hours whilst the search went on.
A very happy ending thanks to the amazing Offshore Rescue Team, Merseyside Police and anyone else involved.
