When Emma and Andrew opened the doors to Artelier Hair on Duke Street back in 2016, their dream was to bring a fresh, boutique-style salon experience to Formby. Now, just nine years later, that dream has flourished into one of our village’s most loved and respected businesses — and an award-winning name recognised nationally.

The name Artelier comes from the French word atelier, meaning “studio” or “workshop” — and it’s the perfect description for what they’ve built. Every colour, every cut, every style is treated as a piece of artistry, created with care, passion and precision.

From the beginning, Emma and Andrew set the bar high. Their salon combines city-level expertise with the warmth and friendliness of a local business. They and their talented team work with only the best brands — L’Oréal Professional, Kérastase, GHD, and Great Lengths extensions — ensuring every client receives top-quality treatments.

Their reputation quickly grew. Known for stunning colouring, expert styling, and personal service, Artelier has become the go-to salon for many in Formby and beyond. Clients regularly describe it as a little haven — a place where you’re welcomed like a friend, pampered like royalty, and always leave feeling fabulous.

And in 2022, all that hard work was recognised when Artelier Hair proudly won the Customer Service Award at the prestigious Salon Business Awards in London. Competing against salons from across the UK, this was an incredible achievement for a small independent business in Formby — and proof that passion and dedication truly shine through.

As they celebrate nine amazing years, Emma, Andrew and their team continue to grow, innovate, and raise the standard for what a local salon can achieve.
