China Butterfly Studio Temporarily Closed Due to Vandalism, Reopening on 23rd October
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has reached out with messages of support and provided information following the unfortunate incident on Saturday night, when our studio window was smashed. Due to the size and specialist nature of the glass required, our glaziers are unable to replace the window until early next week. As a result, we will remain closed until Wednesday, 23rd October.
We have contacted all affected clients, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has kindly agreed to reschedule their appointments.
Bookings for next week remain open.
Bookings are open for half term pottery painting, we’re open Wed-Sat during half term with lots of lovely pottery to choose from 🎨🎃🎄
The police are actively investigating, and we are hopeful that CCTV footage will lead to a positive identification of those responsible. As a small business, this incident has been both distressing and costly. If anyone has further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you again for your continued support.

Thanks for including safety. Loose banisters and creaking stair treads should be fixed promptly, and experienced carpentry services can repair them properly. Small noises often hint at wear that gets worse if ignored.
Construction projects can experience delays that affect planned completion dates. A delay claims can help professionals understand how these delays are reviewed under construction contracts. Project schedules and records can provide important information during the process. This can support a clearer understanding of project events. It is a useful skill for construction professionals.
It is unfortunate to see a creative space like the China Butterfly Studio affected by vandalism, especially when it provides something unique for visitors and the local community. Hopefully the temporary closure gives the team enough time to restore the space and make sure everything is ready for reopening. Careful planning and attention to the condition of a site are important in many professional settings, including work supported by a struktur engineering background from the College of Contract Management. Protecting and maintaining shared spaces helps ensure they can continue to be enjoyed by the community.
Repairing vandalized commercial properties and restoring studio spaces requires structured site supervision and active security measures. Completing the sssts nvq level 3 through The College of Contract Management equips site leads with essential skills to assess physical risks and direct restoration crews safely. Strong supervisory control ensures studio repairs finish on schedule while keeping the facility fully protected.
It was disappointing to read about the vandalism, especially knowing how much effort goes into running a small creative business. Recovering from unexpected setbacks often depends on good planning, and tender training also highlights the value of clear processes, coordination, and responsible decision-making when managing projects. The College of Contract Management offers a Tender Management programme that explores these practical skills in a professional context. Hopefully the studio is able to reopen successfully with the continued support of its community.
