Can we protect the mature trees full of wildlife after it’s sold?
I live next to the McCarthy & Stone Apartments (the corner of Marsh Brows & Freshfield Rd). There is a plantation of trees and shrubs which has been between our house & Freshfield Rd since at least 1921.
The land (previously owned by the council) is owned by Mc Carthy & Stone who have instructed their agents in London to auction it off (guide price £30,000) in about a weeks time.
Is there any way to protect the mature trees on the site, which are a haven for wildlife, or is it destined to be another green space cleared for development, like so many in Formby?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
