There is good news for visitors to Formby this week, as the boardwalk at Lifeboat Road has now fully reopened ahead of schedule following essential repair work.
The ranger team, supported by a dedicated group of volunteers, worked efficiently to complete the planned improvements in just one day, despite the closure originally expected to last longer. The sunshine certainly helped speed up the work.

The repairs focused on the main switchback section leading onto the beach, an important access point and the only accessible route at this location. The closure had been carefully planned for midweek to minimise disruption for visitors.

A spokesperson said: “Thank you for your support and understanding whilst we carried out these essential repairs to this important access route.”
Visitors can now once again use the boardwalk as normal, with access fully restored sooner than anticipated.
