There’s something truly special happening on Green Lane this week…As you step through the doors of St Peter’s Church, the gentle glow of twinkling fairy lights and the soft scent of pine welcome you into a world of Christmas wonder.
Welcome to Formby’s 4th Christmas Tree Festival — a heart-warming celebration of community, kindness, and the true spirit of Christmas.
From Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th December, St Peter’s has been transformed into a beautiful winter forest of decorated trees. Each tree has been sponsored, decorated, and dedicated to a different charity — 18 in total — all lovingly created by local groups, schools, choirs, volunteers, and community members. With every step you take, you’re stepping into a story of hope.

A Festival That Celebrates the Heart of Formby
This festival is more than lights, trees and decorations. It is a celebration of what makes Formby so special — community spirit, generosity, and kindness. Families wander together, children point excitedly at their favourite trees, neighbours chat over coffee, and visitors choose charities that have touched their lives.
If you haven’t visited yet, this is your moment. Walk through the doors. Breathe in the magic.
You will leave feeling warmer than when you arrived.

The 18 Charities Being Celebrated This Year
Every tree represents a cause that touches hearts in our community:

6️⃣ Formby Pantry
7️⃣ Shoebox Appeal

Each charity’s tree is decorated with love and meaning — handmade ornaments, personal tributes, ribbons, messages, children’s artwork and sparkling lights. Every decoration has been placed with purpose. Every tree has a story.
And thanks to the generosity of sponsors who covered all tree costs, every donation you make goes directly to the charity you choose.
