Formby 75th VE Day Celebrations have been postponed due to the Coronavirus

The 75th VE Day Community Group have today released this statement regarding the VE Day celebrations in Formby on the 9th May:

"After discussions with the committee and the recent developments in respect of the coronavirus outbreak, in order to follow government guidance in respect of social gatherings, it is felt that the 75th VE Day Celebrations that were to take place in Formby Village on Saturday 9th May should be postponed to later on in the year."

"We regret having to do this and we would certainly like to “keep calm and carry on” but these are unprecedented times and we wish to keep everyone safe and, in particular, the more vulnerable in our society."
